JANUARY ART CHALLENGE (1)Dotted Line

Welcome to the Art Start Challenge!

Are you excited? I am! This challenge is a fun way to connect as a family or classroom, and the projects are designed to appeal to a wide range of ages…promise!

We’ll begin on January 7, 2017 and go through January 13. This is a LIVE challenge, so if you join the challenge late, you’ll start receive all of the prompts beginning on or after the day you sign up. If you’d like to get the full prompt pack, it’s available as a downloadable PDF here.

Once the challenge is underway, you’ll get a daily email from me with directions for the following day’s activity. Since this is all email-based, be sure that my email address is marked or moved to your inbox. This step is super important if you don’t want to miss out on the challenge.

Until then, here’s a sneak peek at the daily provocations, plus your supply lists…

Add a Little Boogie: Grab the PlayList

My husband, Scott, is a music guy, and loves making playlists. I twisted his arm to pull this fun playlist of tunes for us to play while we create. This playlist is designed for family art making. The bouncing beats will get everyone’s toes tapping, while the limited lyrics keep your mind on the task at hand—making art! It’s music your kids will like, but it’s not “kids” music. It’s a collection of 25 fantastic songs from around the word. Enjoy the Art Start Spotify Playlist.

Download the eGuide

If you can’t wait for the daily emails and would like to get ALL of the prompts in one beautiful 47-page packet, you can immediately download the eGuide for just $6.97 (normally $19.97) until the end of January 7. With the guide in hand, you can plan ahead, read through the daily prompts at your own pace, and review all of the journal prompts.

Not sure if this is right for you? Give it a test spin and try the Day 1 Guide for free.

Art Supply List

My hope is that you have all or most of the following items at home. You may need to pick up a couple things, but don’t go crazy. See if you can borrow anything you need from a friend!
Bring the art supply list to a craft store such as Michael’s. In case you’d like product recommendations, I created a handy list of my favorite supplies for this challenge, which can be found here: January Challenge Supply List.
I’ve made every effort to keep the supplies to a minimum while also introducing you to new and exciting materials. If you’re serious about starting an art habit and making more time for creativity, I’m certain that these supplies will get used over and over again and the investment will be well worth it.

Screen shot this page or print it out, and take it with you to our craft store for easy shopping.
