Where are you located?
Our physical studio is located in Palo Alto, California. We also offer online programs accessible from anywhere in the world.
What ages do you work with?
We welcome creative explorers of all ages! Our programs are designed for both children and adults, with specific workshops tailored to different age groups.
Do I need to be “artistic” to participate?
Not at all! TinkerLab is about exploration and discovery, not perfection. We believe everyone is naturally creative, and our approach helps you tap into that creativity in a fun, pressure-free environment.
Workshops & Classes
What should we expect in a workshop?
Each workshop is hands-on and exploratory. Rather than following strict step-by-step instructions, you’ll be encouraged to experiment with materials and develop your own creative ideas. Our experienced facilitators provide guidance while encouraging individual expression.
What materials are provided?
We provide all materials needed for the workshop. You just need to bring your curiosity and willingness to explore!
How long are your workshops?
Most of our regular art workshops run 1-3 hours. For educators, our Professional Development programs range from quick 1-hour sessions to comprehensive multi-day experiences. If you’re booking a private workshop, we’ll work with you to find the perfect length for your event. You’ll find specific timing details on each workshop’s description page.
Online Programs
How does the Kids Art Membership work?
Our Schoolhouse Online Art Studio membership provides access to monthly projects, creativity-boosting PDFs, video tutorials, and a community feature. New content is added monthly, and you can participate at your own pace.
What materials do I need for online programs?
We focus on accessible materials that can typically be found at home or easily purchased. Each project includes a detailed materials list, and we often suggest alternatives if you don’t have exactly what’s listed.
Private Events & Team Building
What types of team-building activities do you offer?
Our team-building workshops focus on creative problem-solving and collaboration through hands-on art activities. Sessions can be customized to match your company’s goals and culture.
Can you accommodate large groups?
Yes! We can customize our programs for groups of various sizes, both in-person and virtually. Contact us with your specific needs, and we’ll design an experience that works for your group.
What are your rates?
Our pricing varies based on group size, duration, and type of event. Here are general starting points to help with your planning:
- Birthday Parties: From $650 for 8 participants (60 minutes)
- Team Building: From $1500 for up to 15 participants (2 hours)
- School Programs: From $1000 for up to 25 participants (60 minutes)
- Private Group Events: Custom quoted based on your needs
All prices include materials and experienced facilitators. Additional participants, time, or travel may affect final pricing. Contact us for a detailed quote tailored to your specific event.
Do you travel?
Yes! We bring TinkerLab’s creative experiences to your location:
- Local (Bay Area): We serve locations within 30 miles of Palo Alto at our standard rates. Beyond 30 miles, additional travel fees apply
- Domestic & International: Available worldwide with covered travel expenses
