Making imperfect things on purpose is, in fact, a superpower.
In a world that never stops, research shows that 45 minutes of making art lowers stress hormones in 75% of people. This is your 45 minutes.
Each month, I’ll send you an envelope filled with a surprising stash of joyful paper, along with prompts and encouragement to create imperfect things with zero pressure.Â
Your monthly mail includes:
A letter from me, your newest pen pal, with a monthly art prompt to spark new ideas.
A mini-haul of fanciful papers and curated vintage ephemera to use with the prompt or save for later. I’ll pack in as much as I can, and you can expect at least 7-10 pages.
Pattern paper to cut up and collage.
A blank card to use for your own piece of art.
This Is For You If...
You love the idea of a regular creative practice. Actually having one is another story.
Maybe it was work. Or kids. Or an annoying feeling that you’re not “really” creative. Maybe you have a shelf full of supplies you bought with the best intentions
That part of you is still there!
Every month, I’ll send you an envelope full of curated ephemera, creative prompts, and a personal letter, giving you everything you need to sit down and make something.Â
It's Mail Day! (The Good Kind.)
Remember when a thick, doodled-on envelope meant something delightful was inside (not another bill)? That’s what’s coming to your mailbox.
New to art? Perfect. Lower expectations, more fun.
Already an artist? Also perfect. Even dedicated artists need a place to just mess around.
The snail mail art club for people who want to glue stuff.
Here's What's Inside Each Envelope
Everything you need and nothing that’ll make you feel guilty for not finishing it.
Meet Your Pen Pal
Hi, I’m Rachelle. I’ll be sending you mail every month.
I’m the founder of TinkerLab.com, where I’ve spent years convincing people that creativity is a habit and not a talent you either have or don’t.
I started this snail mail art club because I love mail, love art, and I kept hearing the same thing: “I’m not creative.” And every time, I thought: that’s not true. You just haven’t had the right invitation lately.
So here’s yours. Every month I’ll handpick ephemera I genuinely love, write you a letter, and send you prompts I’ve thought carefully about. Think of it as a standing date with yourself that’s low-key, low-pressure, and entirely for you.
(No experience required. Truly. Not even a little bit.)
How It Works
1
Your envelope arrives. A fat envelope of happy mail shows up in your mailbox. You will know immediately that it’s not a bill.
2
You open it slowly. Read the letter. Flip through the ephemera. Read the creative prompt. Let the ideas percolate before you create.
3
You make something. Collage. Doodle. Glue. Write words on things. Paint. There is no wrong way about it. One sitting. Zero pressure. Probably a lot of fun.
FROM THE MAILBOX
Real People. Real Art
“Thank you for giving me the little nudge that I needed to just make stuff.” —Yuliya
“I am so proud of myself for taking the time to enjoy just cutting and gluing and placing without too much thought, and yet, in the end, when I look at my collage, I can see all of the connections and meaning within the whole piece for me.” —Sapphira
“We got our art pack yesterday and worked on our collages today and really enjoyed them! The larger one was done by my 7-year-old daughter. Thank you! We look forward to next month!” —Karen
FAQS
When does my first envelope ship? Orders placed by the 25th ship at the beginning of the following month.Â
Do you ship internationally? Yes! Worldwide shipping is available at a slightly higher rate to cover postage.
Will my ephemera be the same as everyone else’s? Nope. Each ephemera pack is one of a kind as that’s the nature of vintage and found papers. I’ll curate every pack around the monthly theme, so the pieces work together, but no two packs are identical. Your collection of lost papers is yours alone, and that’s part of the thrill of it!
Can I cancel anytime? Yes. No strings attached. You manage your subscription directly from your confirmation email.
What if I’m not an artist? Perfect. This club was made for you. No experience needed…just curiosity and a willingness to make something imperfect.
How is this different from other subscription boxes? This isn’t a craft kit with instructions. It’s a creative invitation with curated materials, a monthly prompt, and the encouragement to make something entirely your own. And there’s a community if you’d like to share your creations on Instagram.
